The Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory government. If your points score is not quite enough for the Subclass 189, a state nomination adds 5 bonus points — and for many Indian applicants, that makes all the difference.
What is the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)?
The 190 works the same way as the 189 — points tested, submitted through SkillSelect — but requires nomination from a participating Australian state or territory. Each state has its own list of occupations in demand and its own selection criteria, based on local workforce needs.
In return for nomination, you commit to living and working in that state for at least two years after your visa is granted.
